HISTORY
The Strathroy & District Christian Retirement Association was incorporated in 1982 to provide independent-living apartments as part of a “continuum of care” to seniors within the municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc.
The project came to fruition through the vision and efforts of the local reformed church community in Strathroy and Mt. Brydges; as an answer to the persistent demand for seniors' housing.
Currently, the present facility houses 213 spacious units on 20 acres of land at the intersection of Dominion and Saulsbury Streets. Maple, Cedar and Elm Courts consist of 1 and 2 bedroom ground floor apartments with each phase featuring a pleasant, central courtyard.
In order to meet the persistent demand for seniors' housing, the 75 unit Concorde was built in 2008. It is a detached, three storey complex connected to the original Courts by an enclosed and heated walkway. The primarily 2 bedroom suites offer comfortable, stylish adult living with amenities such as in-suite laundry.
Tenants of both the 3 Courts and the Concorde enjoy access to a non-residential common space consisting of the Auditorium, guestrooms, offices, Trillium Village Store, hairdressers, exercise room, and the VON Assisted Housing office.
